About Us

Our farm story is not the usual one. We are not a “3rd generation farm” or “a farm family that goes way back”. We didn’t grow up working on a farm or ever even think we would be farmers. But sometimes (well, many times) life has a way of changing your course, and that is exactly what happened to us.

Our Products

Apples are the first thing we think about when we are asked about our products. After all, we are apple growers. However, so many wonderful items are made from our apples and we are happy to offer them to our customers. And while many farms sell all things apple, we also like to highlight products that have a connection to our farm or are unique finds that can’t be found around every corner.

We are a brother & sister team, working together to keep our stepfather's dream of having an apple farm alive

Healthy Local food for your family

Did you know that many of your grocery store apples, including organic ones, are from New Zealand, Chili, and Argentina? This means that your apples have traveled thousands of miles to reach your table and are often picked weeks before they are ripe to help them survive their long journey.

And have you ever wondered why apples are available all year round even though they are only harvested in the fall? Many apples are treated with products to keep them fresh and then stored in sealed coolers for months so they can be shipped to stores during the off season. Yup, your store bought apples are most likely 6-8 months old.

At Holt Orchards, we are proud to say that our apples are harvested fresh each day at their peak of flavor and are in your hands for you to enjoy as soon as the next day. They are grown with love, on 60 acres of land that is sustainably farmed, in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

There is a reason conscious consumers are seeking out local, fresh food and wanting to connect to the people that grow it. The local food movement has allowed us to provide a fresh, nutritious, healthy product to families that care about where their food comes from, and we are happy to call many of our customers our friends.

Thank you for your support and thank you for choosing local.
